About Me

Meet Dr. Aliris Alicea

I believe meaningful change is possible when you feel supported, understood, and guided with clarity.

Many of the people I work with are used to being strong, holding everything together, and showing up for others—until it becomes overwhelming. If you’ve been feeling emotionally drained, stuck, or unsure of how to move forward, you’re not alone.

My role is to provide a space where you can slow down, gain clarity, and begin making meaningful changes. Therapy is not just about talking—it’s about understanding patterns, developing practical strategies, and creating lasting change.

My name is Dr. Aliris Alicea. I am a bilingual (English/Spanish) Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Florida and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in New Jersey and Connecticut. I hold a Doctorate in Counseling and bring over 15 years of clinical experience working with individuals, couples, and families across diverse settings.

Experience & Training

I am licensed to provide therapy in Florida, New Jersey, and Connecticut and have extensive experience working in hospitals, community clinics, and private practice settings.

My clinical work is supported by advanced training in evidence-based and trauma-informed approaches, including:

  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

  • Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)

  • Attachment, Regulation, and Competency (ARC)

  • Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)

I have also worked closely with diverse populations across Florida, New Jersey, New York, and Puerto Rico, which has strengthened my ability to provide culturally responsive and individualized care.

My Approach

I specialize in working with anxiety, trauma, and life transitions. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or caught in patterns that are difficult to change.

My approach is structured, goal-oriented, and grounded in evidence-based practices. I integrate modalities such as EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and other trauma-informed interventions to support emotional processing and meaningful change.

Together, we focus on building awareness, strengthening emotional regulation, and developing practical tools that help you move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and stability.

Moving Forward

While we cannot change the past, we can take intentional steps today to create a healthier and more meaningful future.

My goal is to help you move forward with clarity, confidence, and a stronger sense of direction.
